Measure twice, cut once.

My grandma was an amazingly strong and hard working woman. Widowed at a young age, she had four children to raise and worked more than one job, often, just to put food on the table. She was one of eleven children herself and had a junior high school education, but she knew how to work, budget, parent, farm, cook, clean and so much more! Towards the end of her working years, she was a school cafeteria manager. The students loved her, I'm told by my mom, especially for her gigantic cinnamon rolls. YUM!
Many lessons have been handed down to my mom and now myself, from grandma. Because she had to clothe her kids with hand-me downs, it was common practice to put her sewing skills to good use. She always would say "measure twice, cut once". Am sure this wasn't a lesson she came up with on her own as many say this, but what a great lesson it is nonetheless. It's about preparation, patience and then productivity.

When manufacturing, the same lesson applies. Know your material, your machine and operators then measure twice, cut once. With Hydmech overhead bundling, cut a lot at once. Be prepared, patient and productive as that is a whole lot better than wasting material, time and money. My grandma could not afford to waste anything. We all could do better in life by trying to waste less and work smart.
